Raddish Kids: Language of Love
Recently our kids have been expressing more of an interest in cooking, so we decided to subscribe to a monthly kids' cooking program called Raddish Kids. Each month has a theme, and along with grocery lists, recipes and really clear instructions, you get all kinds of bonus materials too. Aprons, iron on patches, cooking tools and lessons based on the theme. This month included scavenger hunts in the grocery store ( a bit tricky, but still fun) and a lesson on sign language. There are also Table Talk cards, which are topics for the family to discuss around the dinner table while you eat. I really am so impressed with the thought put into this program! My kids were so excited and really got into it. And miracle of miracles, my super weird eater, Roy, ate Caesar salad and Lasagna! Seriously, that is a huge deal. But as I hoped, having him involved in every step of the process really encouraged him to try things he never would have before.

Final Takeaway:
This kit is 100% worth it. It was a fun way to spend an evening as a family and the kids are learning some good, basic cooking skills. Chopping, dicing, measuring that will all get better with more practice. The activities that are included each have lessons that are simple but meaningful. One important thing to keep in mind is the time involved. Start to finish, prep and cooking took about 2.5 hours, so this isn't the easiest thing to do during the week. We happened to have a free night tonight, so this worked fine for us, but I would typically do this on a weekend. In short, we all loved it and are looking forward to next months delivery!
