I see you

Newborn mama, I see you.
With your sleep deprivation and unwashed hair.
I have been you and I love you.

Confused young mama, I see you.
With your guilt and myriad of questions.
I have been there and I understand you.

Angry mama, I see you.
Feeling helpless and alone.
I too, feel anger and identify with you.

Judged mama, I see you.
Every move questioned, every decision ridiculed.
Oh I know you.

Working mama, I see you.
Feeling like you can never truly commit to work or home.
I empathize with you.

Stay at Home Mama, I see you.
With no break, no time away, constantly on duty.
I have cried with you.

Mama of more than one child, I see you.
The never ending balance is so hard.
I am you.

Mama of older kids, I see you.
Watching them grow, letting them spread their wings.
I am becoming you.

Mama, know you are not alone.
Know that you are doing what needs to be done.
Know that you are loved.
Know that your duty can never fully be explained or appreciated, but that it is sacred nonetheless.

I see you mama, and I am in awe of your power, your strength, your love.
